Midnight Stout Pasta With Anchovy, Capers and Garlic

It was a fun night, and now you need a quick and filling bite before you go to sleep. Raiding the pantry, we found that we had all the ingredients including the stout and anchovies to create a simple pasta tapas. And before you turn up your nose at anchovies and stout, just try it out first.

Midnight Stout Pasta With Anchovy, Capers and Garlic

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Total Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. stout ale
  • ¼ pound spaghetti
  • 1 anchovy filets tin, rinsed
  • 1 TBSP butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, sliced
  • 1 TBSP capers, rinsed and roughly chopped
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • Parmesan for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Put the spaghetti in a large pot of well-salted rapidly boiling water and cook only until firmly al dente
  2. While the pasta is cooking, melt the butter in a small skillet over medium heat
  3. Add the garlic and cook for about 1 minute, without letting it brown
  4. Stir in the stout, anchovies, capers and paprika and cook for a minute
  5. Pour pasta in the skillet and toss
  6. Serve with grated Parmesan (if desired)
